I love the British

coffee is good for you!

That's right! Every one should be drinking two cups of coffee a day.

It was a long weekend. On Friday I worked from home so that I could get some loan stuff done for our house. The only problem was that I had several emergencies to deal with at work, so I didn't end up having any time to do home stuff, and worked till 6:30 at night. Then a little later in the night I stepped on a finishing nail that had gotten on the floor some how, so I got to bleed all over the carpet and soak my foot in hot water for a while.

On Saturday I took Deb's Dad John and Mary's Fiance Tim to Todai for Sushi. We got there at 4:30 but they did not open till 5:30 so we went shopping (We were at the Orange Mall). The Orange Mall is a pretty lame mall (like the Sequoia Mall), but they have a Cost Plus, so Tim and I headed to Cost Plus, and John headed to Walmart. Along the way we came across a Knife Gallery, so I stepped inside to order my anniversary present.

Deb, being a good and responsible wife, had ordered my present back in early July to ensure that it would arrive in time. We waited and waited, and finally Deb called Surefire on the day before our anniversary. The person on the phone told her that she had never placed an order, and that the confirmation number that she had recieved via e-mail was invalid. She went back to the surefire web page, and her account did not exist any more. Very wierd.

Anyway, after the Knife Gallery we went over to Cost Plus and I bought Deb some Chocolate and a card. I also found some bamboo blinds that might be nice for our house.

Finally at 5:30 Ben Winter met us at the mall, and we all went to Todai. It was very delicious. If you like Japanese food and sushi, Todai is the place to go if you don't want to spend $50+. Once we were done we headed back to the apartment and I dropped off Tim and John.

Ben and I then went to AMC Fullerton and watched The Brothers Grimm. As I said that night, it was better than mediocre. The character development was a little on the lame side, but besides that it was pretty enjoyable. Don't go if you scare easy though. It isn't a horror movie, but it does have some startling moments, and there is definitely some stuff that would freak out kids.

Sunday we went to Church, had lunch with Ben, and then went home. Ben came over and played Halo, and then my brother came over and played Halo. Then I sat around and watched TV all night.

Now I am at work in a meeting supporting an emergency because of a failed data move over the weekend.

Oh, and I just got a call saying that my flashlight is on backorder and won't be in for almost a month.

Go figure.

This is a first trial

This is a first trial at using Word as my editor for Blogger.  If you don’t already know; you can download a plug-in for Word from Blogger’s main page.  It seems pretty dumb to me, although I can see the advanced spell checker in Word as a major benefit for me.  It even checks my grammar more good.
I assume that I can do other fun stuff, but who wants to see what a Word processor can do?

The Latest

Last Wednesday Mary came over and I took pictures of Her and Deb. They weren't quite as good as I would have liked, but they turned out OK. I am a little rusty I guess. This is the first time I've done portraits since January.

I will post more soon. I have not had a chance to fix up the rest yet.

Letter of Recommend

Oh ya,
I need three letters of recommendation by the end of today. If anybody who reads this feels like writting one for me I wouldn't complain. I don't know if I am going to be able to get any professional letters from any one other than Ben, so letters from friends who love me will work just fine.

One down....

I applied to 6 jobs yesterday. Two of them were ones that I really want that were well presented, and the others were one liners in the classified ads that didn't contain anything other than the title of the position.
I just heard back from the first of the one liners. They told me they paid $11/hour. I laughed. I feel bad now....

No news is bad news

Hi there, and welcome to today's edition of where in the world has Jeff been and why isn't he blogging?

Well, that last part isn't true; I'm blogging right now.

http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/wowworld.html

Go there, it is funny.

Ok, so for the news part of things:

We close escrow on our house on October 21st. We will be doing our final inspection on October 17th. We will be moving on October 29th (Saturday). We will appriciate any help that anyone would like to provide, although we won't really be needing much as we will be hiring professional movers. The main thing we could use help with is putting stuff in boxes before the movers come, and that can be done any time in October. For those that want to help on the actual moving day you are very welcome to come up to Visalia and spend the night at our new place. Any help that we receive will be rewarded with food.

Moms and Dads, (wierd to use that in plural) we hope that you all will come to the final inspection to help us with our exhaustive nitpicking. I figure that if it took us an hour+ to do our appartment, then it will take quite a bit longer to go over something we are paying $500k for.

We are hoping to have two people rent from us when we move to Visalia. At the moment we are asking Keiko Yoshimoto and Sarah Ditore to be our first vict, er um, guests. If anybody knows of someone who is in need of a place to live that is affordable. One of the things we really want to do with this house is help other people out who need it. We will be asking far less for rent(including utilities) than most places charge for just rent (it looks like one bedroom apartments are going for about $700 in Visalia right now), so it should be a great help for anyone that is short on money. At the sametime, if we are able to find two people it should be enough help for us in the money department that Deb won't have to work, so that would be a huge blessing for us as well.

Saturday was Deb's birthday. The party turned out real well, as 14 people showed up. It was fun to see everybody. Sunday we just sat around and relaxed.

That is all for now.

No Seriously

I haven't had anything interesting to say. That is why I have not blogged in the past couple of days. I have been feeling really low on energy for some reason for the past week. It is driving me crazy. I suspect that it has something to do with coffee, but I do not know for sure.

Ya so anyway, I have sat around and played Rome: Total War, and of course Halo2, worked, and watched TV. That is all. Sarah Ditore is staying with us for a week so that is cool at least. Last Tuesday I drove up to Tulare for 15 minutes with Josh for a photoshoot, and then we turned around and came back home.

I can't wait till we move and I have more room for doing portrait stuff.
